This is the Dweller In The Lathe, a small, one person, machine shop. I have been machining things for
myself, freinds and family, and to my surprise discovered other people want them to. So, I offering
my products, plus any other stuff I find for machining or woodworking tools, available to be purchase
on this web shop.
Dweller In the Lathe Products
I cater to the hobbiest as well as professionals who are looking to save some money, but still require quality.
Because I make the parts in house, I don't have the added expense of hiring someone else to make things for me, therefore
I can sell them at a much lower price, but still preserve the quality. This also means if you have a suggestion to make
something work better and that will help other woodworkers, I may be able to implement it. I are also more than happy to
take suggestions for new tools and parts that you would like to see me make. I am currently manufacturing a swivel tool holder
that can be used with the current crop of vessel hollowing tools, or with a tool of your own making.
Things I Can Make for You
My shop has an engine lathe, vertical mill, and a newly aquired Haas CNC machining center. I also work with MasterCAM, so I
can take your CAD drawings and turn them into toolpaths to run on my CNC machine. I currently can make parts in what is called
2 1/2D. Flat surfaces, pockets, holes, and contours. But so 3D surfaces.
Items I've found
For metalworking tools, presently I have a batch of new old stock (NOS) Rusnok collets for mills that take the B&S #9 taper.
I have a Burke myself, and needed more collets but didn't want to pay over $30 for new low quality products. I found a large
lot of collets for a good price and bought them. Since I can't use multiples of each collet, I'm selling them at a price lower
than you could get a new lower quality one. I can do this because I happened on a deal, and I want to share my fortune with other
owners of mills that use this hard to find taper.
For CNC, and people wishing to build tachometers for the machines they own, I've just aquired a batch of Omron EE-SY671 and EE-SY672
optical sensors. These are self contained and easy to interface to a computer to read the RPM off the spindle of a machine. These
sensors usually go from $19-$25 from other online vendors. Here's the
Data Sheet for the sensors.
